Job Title: Network Security Engineer Location: Woonsocket, RI Duration: 6+months Experience: 5+ Years Network Security Engineer This individual will work with a team of network security professionals in a 24x7 enterprise IT Security Operations organization. Roles and responsibilities: • Work during weekends and during the week to Monitor the help desk queue and respond to user support requests relating to Cisco Umbrella. • Make policy changes to Cisco Umbrella based on category filtering and security category filtering to support and protect client • Create reports and scheduled reports within Cisco Umbrella. • Diagnose and resolve technical issues. • Research issues while informing end users of status. • Escalate issues to higher tier support, as needed. • Create end user documentation and recommend procedure changes to proactively reduce number of help desk requests. • Ability to work under pressure, problem solve accurately, creatively and efficiently. • Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment. • Ensure that activities are performed in accordance with customer’ Policy and security best practices. • Provide appropriate updates to IT management and assist in responding to audits as necessary. • Collaborate with various IT and Non-IT functional groups to ensure effective service delivery. • Participate in infrastructure and security incident management processes to derive root cause and after action reports. • Continuously evaluate and update Network Security operational procedures as appropriate and ensure they are followed. • Stay current on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities and take informed proactive actions to protect the enterprise environment. • Stay current on the latest technologies and evaluate new or improved technologies with regard to replacing or upgrading existing System Security infrastructure. Required Qualifications: • 5+ years’ experience working in an information security or IT operations related field in an enterprise environment • Strong technical skills working with network security technologies. Antivirus, Endpoint Encryption and File Integrity Monitoring technologies. • Solid understanding on how DNS functions and the architecture of DNS. • Graduation from a four-year university with a degree or major course work in computer science, telecommunications, networking, engineering or other computer-related field of study preferred Industry. • Certifications such as Comp TIA Security +, CCNA, CCNP, and GIAC are preferred.
